UCLA doctor to discuss effect of chemo on the brain

The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura and the Community Memorial Health System Cancer Resource Center will host “Chemo brain” with Lorne Label, MD, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 28 in the Community Memorial Hospital board room, 147 N. Brent St., Ventura.

Forgetfulness and mental fog are sometimes experienced by people who have undergone chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy or surgery. Label will review the causes and manifestations of “chemo brain” symptoms, medical research, risk factors and treatment strategies.

Label completed his degree in internal medicine and neurology at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, followed by a clinical neuromuscular fellowship at the USC Neuromuscular Center. He is a clinical professor of neurology at UCLA and on staff at the UCLA Neurology Clinic.

Label is the founder of the Brain Longevity Center in Thousand Oaks. His practice specializes in adult and pediatric neurology incorporating Western and Eastern medical studies.
