CLU event to analyze the auto industry

Former CEOs from Ford Motor Company and J.D. Power and Associates will discuss the American automobile industry at the California Lutheran University Corporate Leaders Breakfast, 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thurs., Jan. 21 in the Lundring Event Center.
Moderated by Jim Rondeau, director of operation and programming for KCLU, the program will feature Donald E. Petersen, former chair of the board of Ford Motor Company, and James D. Power III, the founder of J.D. Power and Associates.
Petersen joined Ford in 1949 after earning a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University. He was on the board of directors from 1977 to 1990. He became president and chief operating officer in 1980 and CEO and board chair in 1985. In 1989, Petersen was named Chief Executive Officer of the Year and accepted the Quarterback of Industry Award on behalf of the Ford team. He retired in 1990 and now lives in Michigan.
Power founded a Westlake Village-based marketing information firm whose clients include automotive manufacturers and importers serving the U.S. market. The firm has four regional offices in the U.S. and international offices in Bangkok, Beijing, London, Munich, Singapore, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto.
The Corporate Leaders Breakfast brings members of the business and civic communities together to share ideas and hear from leaders in the region.
The series will continue with presentations by Naval Base Ventura County commander Capt. James McHugh on March 18 and former NPR host Alex Chadwick on May 4.
Lundring Events Center is in the Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center north of Olsen Road near Campus Drive in Thousand Oaks.
