Two local art shows looking for entries
The Thousand Oaks Art Association’s annual juried show will take place Feb. 2 through 27 at the Thousand Oaks Community Gallery, 2331 Borchard Road, Newbury Park.
The show is open to all artists residing in Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo and Orange counties.
Images, entry form and fees must be received no later than Jan. 8. Prize money of more than $1,000 will be awarded.
The juror for the show is Donna Granata, founder and executive director of Focus on the Masters, a nonprofit educational program documenting many contemporary artists who live and/or work in Ventura County.

The Buenaventura Art Association is accepting entries for its 24th annual Open Competition at the Buenaventura Gallery, 700 E. Santa Clara St., in downtown Ventura.
The exhibit will run from Jan. 5 through 30. The bring-in for the artists will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sun. and Mon., Jan. 3 and 4.
The awards ceremony, with $1,500 in prizes, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sat., Jan. 9.
The juror will be Dane Goodman, director of Atkinson Gallery, Santa Barbara City College.
