The 27th annual California Strawberry Festival is seeking submis sions for its 2010 official poster contest, with $2,000 awarded to the winner. The entry deadline is Jan. 4. The poster will be used in marketing and advertising and printed on collectible T-shirts and promotional items.

The Oxnard festival will be May 15 and 16. There are no age or artistic medium requirements. Judges will select the winner based on which entry best captures the look and feel of the festival.

All original artwork for consideration must be 16½ inches wide and 17 inches high, centered and mounted on a black matte board 18½ inches wide and 19 inches high.

The finished product must be reproduction-compatible and void of any writing, including the date. Contact name and information should be on the back.

Entries can be mailed or hand-delivered to the festival office at 1661 Pacific Ave., Ste. 15, Oxnard, CA 93033.

The winner will be notified the second week of January. Posters will not be returned and must be picked up between Jan. 18 and 22.

The grand-prize winner will be the guest of honor at a February press luncheon.
