Navy Reserve Lt. Heather M. Lane completed the Reserve Officer Strategy and Policy Course at the Naval War College in Newport, R.I. The college is the oldest war college in the nation, founded in 1884.

Lane is assigned as an assistant chief officer for the Administrative Department, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, 407th Reserve Unit, Naval Weapons Station Charleston, based in Goose Creek, S.C.

She has served in the military for seven years.

Lane is the daughter of Randy L. and Nancy Reddick of Lubbock, Texas. Her husband, David, is the son of Timothy “Garth” and Pamela E. Lane of Simi Valley.

The lieutenant graduated in 1998 from Royal High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 2002 from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
