Scott Santino The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced its selection for the 2009 Business Person and Business of the Year.

The honorees are Scott Santino, owner and president of TTop Plumbing Company Inc., and Best Western Posada Royale Hotel and Suites. They will be officially acknowledged at the Chamber’s Business Achievement Luncheon on Fri., Jan. 29 at the Grand Vista Hotel.

Santino has 18 years experience in the plumbing industry and has been the owner and president of T-Top Plumbing since 1993. The company has a staff of 12 employees and provides residential and commercial services in Ventura County, San Fernando Valley and Santa Barbara. 

Santino is a member of the Rotary Club of Simi Valley. He has served as club past president and chair of the club’s golf tournament. He is also involved with the Interact Club.

He volunteers for various club projects, such as the pancake breakfast, dictionary project and holiday bike assembly. 

Posada Royale Hotel Santino is the president of the Simi Valley Police Foundation and a board member of the Simi Valley Community Foundation.

Best Western has played a significant role in the growth of Simi Valley since 1985. The hotel supports education in the community and has donated more than $10,000 to local schools and two universities. 

The number of employees for the hotel range from 40 to 65, depending on the time of year. 

Best Western is a green property. Having completed an audit of the property’s compliance with more than 70 eco-initiatives, the hotel satisfies 37 eco-initiatives.
