WM wants record set straight on landfill expansion
      Those of us who work at Waste Management’s Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center have been out in the community a lot over the last few weeks, engaging with the public about our modernization and expansion project.

Rank and file keep Simi safe, not the police chief
      After reading the article about our police chief and the SVPOA (Simi Valley Acorn , Nov. 13), I have to ask: Where have all these city officials been? The rank and file have been complaining about this politically connected appointee since his arrival. That doesn’t mean our police officers are not going to do their jobs they swore an oath to do.

Don’t fault Taylor Swift for being a crossover success
      I was perplexed by Steve Jones’ Nov. 20 letter regarding Taylor Swift’s Country Music Association award. I seriously doubt that the women who have previously received Female Vocalist of the Year honors would consider Swift’s win a “slap in the face.” Do you speak for them?

Property owner offers land to displaced homeless
      Certainly there are various arguments with respect to the homeless issue (“Park district at odds with homeless . . .”, Simi Valley Acorn , Nov. 20) However, the fact remains that there are real people every day living out in the elements.
