Stabbing leads to arrest in Moorpark
A fight between two Moorpark residents resulted in a stabbing and an arrest in the early morning hours of Nov. 20 in the 400 block of Millard Street, Moorpark.
According to witnesses, William James Cardiel, 37, and Alfred Curtis Dowd, 54, had gotten into an argument which turned physical. During the fight, Dowd allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed Cardiel in the stomach. Following the stabbing, Cardiel fled the scene but was later found and transported to Simi Valley Adventist Hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening wound.
Dowd was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Dowd was booked into the East County Jail Facility in lieu of $35,000 bail.
