•Air Force Airman 1st Class Garik M. Mitchell graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Mitchell is the son of Clarence and Katie Mitchell of Simi Valley and a 2007 graduate of Simi Valley High School.

•Army Pvt. Richard A. Deobler has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

He is the son of Robert Deobler of Simi Valley and a 2009 graduate of Simi Valley High School.
