Unhappy with CMA’s vocalist of the year
I think Taylor Swift is a nice girl, and I can understand how little kids and teens could like her so much, but it is ridiculous for her to even be considered in the country music genre.
I feel like the CMAs have lost all credibility after the 2009 CMA awards on ABC last week. It is supposed to be about country music talent and not about popularity. Most importantly, it is supposed to be about country music singers, not pop music singers.
I can accept the fact that she won album of the year because of the many record sales that were made this year, but female vocalist of the year? That is a slap in the face to the many truly talented female vocalist winners from past years.
Taylor’s performance on the CMA awards show was mediocre at best and completely discredits her winning the vocalist and entertainer of the year awards.
The women nominated in the category of female vocalist of the year should be disappointed with the so-called “industry professionals” who voted and just lowered the standards of such a prestigious award. The CMA’s “board of directors” should be ashamed.
Maybe they should change the name from Country Music Association to Children’s Music Academy.
