The Young at Art studio will host “Holiday Hoopla,” the annual holiday art contest and show, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sat., Dec. 5 at the studio, 5762 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.

This year’s categories will include children and adults of all ages. The public is invited to stop by to view the artwork of the students.

Guests can also sign up for a free introductory class, and children can take part in free face painting, cookie decorating and ornament making.

Young at Art provides a progressive program of classic fine art techniques and innovative experimentation in drawing, painting and mixed media.

All artwork is done in a creative environment for all ages and is taught by professional artists.

Owner Elois Brett-Kress works in each of her studios at least twice a week. She specializes in teen and adult classes and mentors high school students by helping prepare them for college.
