Local boy is expert marksman


ON TARGET—Simi Valley resident Christopher Claxton, above right, hit the mark when competing in the 2009 National Sporting Clays  Championship  in  San  Antonio,  Texas. He  earned  the National Championship in “A” Class and had the highest overall score in “AA” to “E” class out of 1,119 entrants. He also placed third overall in the Sub Junior category, competing with students age 16 and under. Sporting clays is considered the most difficult shotgun discipline. Christopher, who also plays football, is a freshman at Oak Park High School in Oak Park.
