Ventura County Treasurer-tax collector Larry Matheney announced he will not run for reelection.

Matheney took office in 2002 after being appointed by the board of supervisors to fill the unexpired term of Harold S. Pittman.

The filing period for candidates will open the week of Feb. 15, 2010 and the primary election will be June 8.
