Highlanders chasing state championship
      Meet one of the finest boys’ cross country teams in the nation. Well, the Royal High runners will tell you they’re happy just to be the best in California. The Highlanders, second in the country in the most recent Harrier Super 25 rankings, enter the postseason as favorites to win the Division I state championship.

Big baseball showcase Saturday at RHS
      Royal High is the place to be this weekend for local baseball fans. The Highlanders are hosting the All Counties Baseball Expo on Saturday. About 50 vendors will have booths featuring the latest gear from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Scouts will also evaluate high school players during a showcase from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Fundraiser to assist Simi Valley ballclub
      The Simi Valley Baseball League Sharks are holding a tournament to help fund their 2010 trip to Cooperstown, N.Y. The tournament takes place Nov. 27-29 at the SVBL baseball complex in Simi Valley. Nine divisions are scheduled to compete with kids ages 7-16.
