Community college newspaper wins big at journalism conference
NEWS HOUND—Student Voice editor-in-chief David Lopez accepts a second-place award for news judgement/layout during the Journalism Association of Community Colleges’ Southern California conference last weekend at Cal-State Fullerton.

took home 10 awards at the Journalism Association of Community Colleges’ Southern California conference last weekend at Cal State Fullerton.
The Student Voice
is the news organization for the three colleges which comprise the Ventura County Community College District: Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura.
The regional conference takes place every fall with about 250 students and 50 staff and advisers attending.
The association is a nonprofit organization of member schools and advisers.
The Student Voice
team of 20 students earned the general excellence designation that denotes consistent high standards for quality in reporting, photography, editing and design, in addition to other awards.
