Actors sought for production of ‘Rent’

Auditions for Jonathon Larson’s Pulitzer-Prize winning musical “Rent” will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.

The production is directed by David Ralphe and Fred Helsel, with musical direction by Gary Poirot and choreography by Becky Castells.

Rehearsals will begin in midNovember. Performances will run from Jan. 9 through Feb. 14.

The production is seeking male and female rock singers, ages 18 to 39 of all ethnicities. A lighting designer is also needed.

Actors should bring a headshot, resume and sheet music in appropriate key of a contemporary pop/rock/gospel/r&b/musical theater style. Selections from “Rent” will be accepted. An accompanist will be provided.

Actors should dress casually.

This is a non-Equity production with no pay.
