Marines, both active duty and retired, are invited to celebrate the Marine Corps’ 234th birthday at 7 p.m. Tues., Nov. 10 at TGI Friday’s, 2795 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley.

The event is free and organized by local Marines Albert Carnahan and Nick Chacon. The Marine Corps League Detachment 597 of Ventura County will also attend.

The older Marines will conduct the traditional cake-cutting ceremony.
