The Ventura County Sheriff’s East Valley Search and Rescue team is recruiting new members. A new training academy will be offered in January 2010. 

Two identical informational meetings to discuss requirements and eligibility will take place at 7 p.m. Tues., Nov. 10 and at 9 a.m. Sat., Nov. 21. Both meetings will be in the community room at the East Valley Sheriff’s Station, 2101 E. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks. 

Attendance at one of these meetings is required to proceed in the training academy application process. 

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and pass a physical fitness test and a background check.
