C-17 flyover will kick off Vets Day at Reagan
The Reagan Library at 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley, will host its annual Veterans Day event on Wed., Nov. 11.
All Veterans Day events are free to the public; regular museum admission rates apply to view the exhibits. Veterans and all active military members with valid ID will receive free admission to the museum on Nov. 11.
Following is the schedule of events for Veterans Day:
10:30 a.m. C-17 flyover
10:45 a.m. Musical performance by the Sequoia Middle School Choir and the 562nd Air Force Band Brass Quintet.
11 a.m. Program with honor guard presentation of colors and remarks by Col. Paul Hargrove, Vietnam helicopter pilot Gary Roush and Patrick Fries, producer of the documentary “In the Shadow of the Blade.”
12:30 p.m. Huey helicopter lands on replica of White House south lawn.
2 p.m. Free showing of the film “In the Shadow of the Blade,” following the journey of a UH-1 Huey helicopter in Vietnam. Remarks by production personnel.
Throughout the day, guests can interact with Buffalo soldier and Civil War reenactors. VFW member Eric Huberth will hand out poppies.
