Simi, Royal marching bands in step, in tune

SPECTACULAR BANDS— Above, Simi Valley High  School’s marching band entertains the judges with its Blues Brothers-inspired field show at the 26th annual Royal Classic on Oct. 17 at Royal High School. Twentyone bands from as far away as Lompoc and Huntington Park came to compete against local schools. At right, tuba players from the Royal High School marching band and flag team perform a week later at the 41st annual Simi Valley High School Band Spectacular on Oct. 24. Eighteen bands  from all over Southern California competed in the tournament.
