The SoCal Curling Club will host a curling open house at 7 p.m. Sat., Nov. 7 at the Iceoplex Ice skating rink, 131 W. Easy St., Simi Valley.

The event is open to anyone age 12 or older who would like to learn how to curl.

Curling will be played at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, in February.

Rules and techniques will be taught during the open house. All equipment is provided.

The game is played on the ice, so participants should dress warmly and wear flat-soled athletic shoes.

There is no skating involved.
