The Miss Ventura County and Miss Ventura County’s Outstanding Teen pageants are accepting applications for the 2010 pageant scheduled for Sat., Jan. 23 at the High Street Arts Center in Moorpark.

Contestants must attend one of two orientation sessions—either 3 p.m. Sun., Nov. 1 or 7 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 5 at Community Christian Church, 216 Moorpark Ave., Moorpark.

Entry deadline is Dec 13.

The competition is open to young women who live, work or go to school in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Contestants will be judged on private interview, talent, evening wear and physical fitness (teens in athletic wear). 

The age eligibility is from 13 to 24 years.

Each contestant will be asked to present a service opportunity she would like to support during her year of service.

More than $2,500 in scholarships will be awarded to the winners and runners-up.
