Maybe sheriff’s department could do the job of SVPD

Has the city of Simi Valley given any serious thought to replacing the Simi Valley Police with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department?
From all indications, the VCSD does a great job as the dedicated police department for a number of Ventura County cities, including Fillmore, Ojai, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Camarillo, and the last time I checked Thousand Oaks had a lower crime rate than Simi Valley.
