Competitive adult swimmers wanted
The Masters Swim Team for adults meets from 6:15 to 7:15 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday at the Simi Valley Family YMCA, 3200 Cochran St.
Participants may improve swim technique, speed and endurance, get a workout or train for a triathlon.

Horse around medieval-style
The Society for Creative Anachronism will host an Equestrian Games Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Oct. 24 at Bridle Path Homeowners Association First Street Arena Complex, next to 298 First St., Simi Valley.
Check-in is 9 a.m.
Participants will learn to use medieval equipment, including spears, javelins, swords and lances, during this hands-on mounted training day.
Medieval and Renaissance costumes are encouraged. Riders must bring their own horses.
The cost is $20 for riders (cash or check only) and free for spectators.

Moorpark High alum plan reunion
The Moorpark High School Alumni Reunion Committee will meet for a no-host dinner at 7 p.m. Wed., Oct. 28 at El Tecolote restaurant, 333 N. Lewis Road, Camarillo.
The event is an invitation meeting to introduce the reunion planning team and discuss its work. Those who graduated from the school between 1960 and 1988 are welcome.
The fifth gala reunion will be at 5:30 p.m. Sat., Oct. 2, 2010, at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, Ventura Harbor.

SVHS presents Band Spectacular
The Simi Valley High School Instrumental Music Department will present its 41st annual Band Spectacular Marching Band and Field Tournament from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sat., Oct. 24 at the Simi Valley High School football stadium, 5400 Cochran St.
The all-day event will feature more than 20 high school marching bands and color guard drill teams from Southern California.
The public and families are welcome.
The admission cost will help fund the instrumental music program at the high school.
