Simi residents can dump for free this Sunday at landfill
Simi Valley residents may drop off green waste, trash or bulky items free of charge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., Oct. 18 at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center, 2801 Madera Road.
Appliances, clean concrete and asphalt, clean wood, green waste, nonhazardous residential trash, and construction and demolition materials will be accepted for recycling.
Recyclable items should be separated from trash.
Unacceptable items include commercial waste, hazardous waste, liquids, tires, batteries, products containing mercury and fluorescent light tubes and bulbs.
The event is for residents and nonprofit organizations only.
Goodwill will be accepting gently used items and electronic waste, including televisions, computers and monitors. For a list of accepted items, visit www .goodwillvsb.org/.
Residents should have valid identification with them.
All loads must be tarped according to California state law and are subject to inspection. All commercial vehicles are subject to applicable rates unless prior arrangements have been made.
