SVHS grad Weaver scheduled to start Game 2 vs. Red Sox

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim right-handed pitcher Jered Weaver, a Simi Valley High graduate, is slated to start the second game of the American League Division Series tonight against the Boston Red Sox.
Weaver, who posted a 16-8 record with a 3.75 earned-run average in the regular season, will be opposed by Red Sox standout Josh Beckett (17-6, 3.86 ERA).
Game time is set for 6:37 p.m.
In other playoff news, Weaver’s older brother, Jeff, also an SVHS grad, was the winning pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLDS.
