Cash raised from e-waste collection will go to schools

The Simi Valley Education Foundation will host three free community e-waste recycling days for residents and businesses.

The collections will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thurs. and Fri., Oct. 15 and 16 at the Elegant Gardens Nursery, 2046 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark.

The third free collection day, with curbside drop-off, will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Oct. 17 at the Simi Valley Unified School District parking lot, 875 Cochran St.

Accepted items include computer monitors, television sets, plasma screens, laptops, keyboards and most other electronic items.

The foundation will earn money for every pound of e-waste recycled. All proceeds go to local public schools.
