Atherwood Elementary’s extreme makeover complete

TRANSFORMATION—Eric Lundstrum, president of the Simi Valley school board, cuts the ribbon on Oct. 1 to dedicate the completed C4 bond modernization project at Atherwood Elementary  School  in  Simi Valley.  Joining  in  the  celebration  are,  from  left,  Emily  Barnes, Atherwood PTA president; Kathryn Scroggin, Simi Valley Unified superintendent; and Kathy Roth,  Atherwood  principal. Among many  improvements  at  the  school  were  several new buildings, including a mulitpurpose room, administration office and a library-media center. Construction at Atherwood had begun in 2004 and was originally slated to be done in 2007.
