Services shouldn’t go to those who sneak into the U.S
In reply to Mr. Hernandez’s disassociated comparison of migrant workers versus water rationing, maybe he should first learn the meaning of the word illegal (letters, Simi Valley Acorn , Aug. 21).
Just so anyone who doesn’t understand the meaning of this word, it means unlawful. Not one single American should have to pay or give up anything that they are entitled to because of someone who does not belong here; that includes water.
So what you are saying is, illegals have more rights than citizens. They can sneak across the border and be allowed to use our services, such as water, with no consequences. This is ridiculous.
It is a federal crime to sneak into this country under any condition. These laws are set up to protect Americans and to prevent chaos—for without laws, anything goes.
Why should we feel sorry for anyone who knowingly is breaking the law? It is just too darned bad if they have to pay the consequences for their own actions, isn’t it? Ah, poor them.
It is time this state grew some melons and started taking responsibility for their lack of enforcement of laws and their bowing to special interest groups. If the state loses revenue, that’s tough.
The state created the problem in the first place, and the farmers added to it by hiring people who are not here legally.
Like I said, I will ration water when all those who are not suppose to be here are gone. Until then, no.
I have constitutional law on my side, not some emotional politically correct dribble about allowing illegals more rights than citizens have. There is no sane rationality behind this way of thinking.
By the way, your water bill is high because the system doesn’t allow people to live on the lower tier. You will go over it and be plunked into the second or third tier with their ridiculous higher rates.
It’s time to stop voting people like Pelosi and Feinstein into office. Boxer is up next for reelection. What are you going to do? Joy Lomenick Simi Valley
