Massage event raises nearly $1,000 to help Komen for the Cure
During its participation in a nationwide “Massage for the Cure” event on Sept. 15, Massage Envy Spa in Simi Valley performed more than 90 massages to help raise money to fight breast cancer.
Combined with the other 588 Massage Envy locations, 46,680 massages were given, and more than $466,000 was raised.
Massage for the Cure helped fund breast cancer screening and treatment initiatives across the country. One-hour therapeutic massages were offered at a discounted price of $35, with $10 from each massage directly benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliates.
Total additional donations are being calculated.
Since the first Massage for the Cure event in 2005, Massage Envy locations have raised more than $1.3 million for Komen.
