The Santa Susana Baseball League executive board announces the return of the PONY Division for ages 13 and 14 after a five-year sabbatical.

The PONY field is under construction at 4333 Township Ave., between Houghton Park and Township Elementary School, and will be ready for play in spring 2010.

The league is part of the PONY (Protect Our Nation’s Youth) Baseball League.

Founded in 1962, Santa Susana Baseball League is the oldest baseball league in Simi Valley and has produced many former and current Major League baseball players.

Bryan Anderson, drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals, and Nick Girarputo, drafted by the New York Mets, were the latest inductees into the league’s Hall of Fame.
