The Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley has named Christine Heisley as its new education director.

Heisley joined the club as a member at age 12. In middle school she was an active volunteer junior leader, working with the younger members.

She joined the staff when the club relocated to its current site at 2850 Lemon Drive.

She was later promoted to a supervisory team leader position, while attending Cal State Northridge for her teaching credential.

Heisley has taught in the Simi Valley Unified School District, in both Title I and regular classrooms, while continuing her involvement with the Boys & Girls Club through individual and group tutoring.

Now she will oversee the club’s educational programs.

Continuing her education, Heisley is enrolled in graduate work toward a master’s degree in education.
