GOP doesn’t have an economic foot to stand on

In reading Rep. Gallegly’s oped it’s clear that he is toeing the

ypical GOP line by falsely stat

ng that proposed Democratic leg

slation and the recent stimulus are “job killers” (Simi Valley Acorn , Sept. 25).

I remember the GOP saying exactly the same thing prior to and during the last Democratic administration and what followed was the largest economic expansion (and jobs created) in the U.S. economy since WWII, with a balanced budget to boot.

Gallegly and his GOP ilk marched in lockstep with the Bush administration and the trillion-dollar giveaway—which was never paid for—to the richest 1 percent and had the worst record for jobs created since Herbert Hoover.

So now Gallegly is an expert on the economy and job creation?

To top it off he wants to put the blame for the highest unemployment numbers since the last great Republican Depression on President Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Are you kidding me? This is like blaming the guy that picks up the elephant poop at the circus for the poop being there in the first place.

Previous quotes in the Acorn by Gallegly also indicate that he wants to run for office again so he can “just say no” to any commonsense legislation proposed by the Obama administration, including healthcare for all Americans.

He says he supports this and that legislation but neglects to say that what he actually supports are huge bend-over-and-grab-your-ankles giveaways to big Pharma and health insurance companies whose sole intent is profit, not healthcare. Just Google how much these folks donated to his campaign and see why he was able to outspend his last opponent by nearly 10-1.

I agree with Arthur Hernandez; it’s time for Rep. Gallegly to retire, enjoy his taxpayer-provided government healthcare and ride off into the sunset. Vaya con Dios! Dennis McKee Simi Valley
