How dare Mayor Miller and all council members make such a deal in hiring a new city attorney (“City attorney gets 6 percent raise, Simi Acorn , Sept. 18).

People who have worked in some job positions are losing their jobs; others are taking pay cuts. You turn around and hire a new city attorney at a high enough salary (in this recession) and promise extra perks.
