The city of Simi Valley/Waterworks District No. 8 and Golden State Water Company will offer a free four-part Water Conservation Landscape Training program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Saturday beginning Sept. 26 at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.

The Nov. 7 class will be at the Simi Valley Police Department, 3901 Alamo St.

The workshops will focus on landscaping materials and techniques to save water and money by reducing irrigation.

Participants will learn landscape and garden design, benefits of using California-friendly plants, sprinkler system basics and soil, fertilizer and watering requirements.
