A public comment period is in effect through Oct. 2 to give feedback on an alternative version of the draft cleanup order regarding the Santa Susana Field Laboratory in Simi Valley.

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control negotiated a draft cleanup order with the U.S. Department of Energy and NASA. A second version of the draft document contains changes proposed by two of the above agencies. Comments posted on both versions of the cleanup order will be used in negotiating a final order.

Copies of both the original and alternative orders are available under the “what’s new” headline at www.dtsc.ca.gov or www.dtscssfl.com. The public may leave comments on these sites.
