Simi youth teams find winning contagious

CUP WINNERS—The SAS Kickers U-12 team were the 2009 Corsican’s Cup GU12 champions. The team went 4-0 during the two-day tournament in Camarillo in August. DOUBLE UP—The Warriors Simi Valley U-10 baseball team won summer tournaments at Goleta and Santa Barbara. Team members are Ryan Chandler, Tyler Glassman, Jared Gould, Christian Goujon, Hunter Hull, Charley Larson, Nicholas Lapinid, Myka Lopez, Cameron Lim, Drew Quirke, Paul Ranieri, Noah Rodriguez-Trammell, Chris Silberman and Konner Slettedahl. The coaches are Konrad Slettedahl, Paul Larson, Brian Silberman and Fred Ranieri.
GOING TO THE SERIES—The Lady Wongs U-16 girls softball travel team from Simi Valley took second place at the Harbor Havoc Triple Crown Tournament in San Diego on Aug. 16. In doing so, the team earned a spot in the Fastpitch World Series in Park City, Utah in summer 2010. Team members are: Mari Rosa, Molly Drucker, Betsey Leon, Brandi Lubrano, Jennifer Ortega, Alexandria Del Nostro, Emma Rees, Savannah Fischer, Terra Simon, Taylor Viveiros and Dani Pena. Not pictured are Cierra Burgmeier and Hannah Neihaus. Manager is Fernando Rosa and coaches are Matt Gooding, Neil Drucker and Francisco Leon.
BEST IN THE WEST—The All-Stars from Simi Youth Baseball captured a Pinto World Series championship by defeating Norwalk.
