Political name-calling gets us nowhere
Enough already with the slamming of opposing political opinions and name-calling.
Jody Kepple’s rebuttal to Christina Powers comment on a statement made in the movie “Julie and Julia” was fine in her first three paragraphs, but then she went off on her on tangent about Reaganomics and how our government is only for corporations.
This may be her belief, but to then say that was enough proof for her to believe that Republicans are heartless was totally unwarranted. Was that statement necessary?
Was it her intention to offend others with that statement? Probably not, but think before you speak, write and namecall because not everyone wants to hear what you think about Republicans.
It is a known fact that the entertainment industry is mostly liberal, and these types of comments in movies and TV will be made.
The writers will continue to write this way, and that is just the way it is. I hear it in the shows I watch, such as “Weeds,” and just dismiss it. I personally think those lines could be omitted because they have nothing to do with the story line, but it is what it is.
I do not, however, go on and on and come to the conclusion that writers are heartless.
Bottom line: Move on, everyone; enough with the name-calling.
