Labeling people only makes divide grow larger

I was compelled to write to the Acorn after reading an article in the paper dated Aug. 28.

The article “Barking dog campaign spurs positive response” stated that Barbra Williamson wanted to get the “dog lovers” and the “complainers” in the same room to discuss their issues. I think that labeling the people in this way only adds to the tension between both groups.

I have a dog and I do call myself a “dog lover,” but I still don’t want to hear my dog or any of my neighbors’ dogs continually bark.

So in my view it is more about people caring about each other and being considerate of each other. We all have the right to be in our home or outside enjoying our wonderful weather without the constant barking of a dog.

If we need to label these groups, let’s do it this way: those that are considerate and those that are not. Kathy Bursik Simi Valley
