The Simi Valley Senior Center will host a presentation on Osteoporosis, Balance and Fall Prevention from 1 to 2 p.m. Wed., Sept. 16 at the center, 3900 Avenida Simi.

Dr. Gregg P. Hartman, orthopedic surgeon on staff at Simi Valley Hospital, will give a free lecture on preventing osteoporosis without the use of medication.

Debbie Nadel, physical therapist, will demonstrate fall prevention and balance techniques.

Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and structural deterioration of bone tissue, leading to bone fragility and possible fractures.
