The Simi Valley Senior Center will host a seminar on “Financial safety in the golden years” from 9 a.m. to noon Tues., Sept. 15 at the senior center, 3900 Avenida Simi.

Topics will include how to safely consider a reverse mortgage, obtain quality in-home care, locate community and mental health resources and what to do in case of financial abuse.

Speakers will be from Bank of America, Help Unlimited, Ventura County Area Agency on Aging, Adult Protective Services, Ventura County Behavioral Health and the deputy district attorney from the Elder Abuse Unit.

Senior advocate Betty Berry from Senior Concerns will moderate the discussion.

The event is free, and seating is limited.
