Cornerstone, Kiwanis help keep Free Clinic going

As a board member for the Free Clinic of Simi Valley, I want to spotlight two local organizations that are making significant contributions to our nonprofit organization—because they won’t spotlight themselves for these true acts of kindness.

This year, both the Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley and Cornerstone Church have agreed to donate $500 each month to the Free Clinic. These are ongoing donations, every single month. They have not indicated end dates.

The donations are tremendous during a period of great need for our nonprofit organization, which works to keep local residents healthy and happy.

The mission of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley is to provide medical and dental care, counseling and legal assistance to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay.

Wonderful organizations such as Cornerstone Church and the Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley— along with other strong supporters such as the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise, Simi Valley Hospital and others—allow the Free Clinic to continue to provide such care and assistance.

For their donations they do not issue press releases or otherwise call for attention. Well, they may not ask, but they deserve attention.

Thank you, Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley and Cornerstone Church, for stepping up and helping us in this most challenging year. Keith Jajko Simi Valley
