Chabad Hebrew School of Simi and Moorpark hosting open house
The Chabad Hebrew School of Simi Valley and Moorpark, which begins its second year, will host an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sun., Aug. 30 at 4464 Alamo St., Simi Valley.
Visitors may learn about the program, meet the teachers, enjoy arts and crafts and visit with other local Jewish families.
The school meets from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sundays starting Sept. 13 and continuing through the school year.
Chabad Hebrew School is open to any Jew, regardless of religious background or level of observance. The school does not require membership or prior affiliations as a condition for enrollment.
Devorah Heidingsfeld is director of the school.
The curriculum is the nationally acclaimed Aleph Champion Program, which is based on the martial arts motivational philosophy of colorcoded levels and testing.
The school states that it offers a stimulating and friendly environment where children embrace their Jewish roots and gain a sense of Jewish pride.
