Golf tournament will benefit Simi police K-9 unit

The 16th annual golf tournament to benefit the Simi Valley Police Department K-9 Unit is scheduled for Mon., Aug. 24 at Lost Canyons Golf Club, 3301 Lost Canyons Drive, Simi Valley.

Formerly known as Pars 4 Paws, the tournament is cohosted by the Simi Valley Police Foundation and Simi Sunrise Rotary Charitable Foundation. 

The tournament will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with check-in and a putting contest on the driving range, followed by a shotgun start/four person scramble format and lunch at 11 a.m.

At 5 p.m. will be the dinner, awards ceremony and a live auction at the golf club.

The entry fee is $160 per player and $125 for emergency personnel, including law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics and active or retired military.

Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit several Simi Valley police safety and education programs, including the K-9 Unit, and the Simi Sunrise Rotary Charitable Foundation’s Scholarship Fund.
