Aircraft event honors WWII vets
Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 723 will host Wings over Camarillo 2009 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Aug. 22 to 23 at Camarillo Airport on Skyway Drive.
World War II air crew veterans will be honored as the grand marshals.
The NinetyNines, the International Women Pilots Association, will serve a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m.
The event will have activities for children, food and vendor booths, and aircraft flying.
A three-hour narrated flying exhibition will start at 1 p.m. Wings will conclude with flights of Warbirds, formations of rarely seen WWII fighters, bombers and transport planes.
Admission is $6. Children under 10 are free. Parking is free. People 15 years and older can learn about becoming a licensed pilot.
