Audition for ‘Children of Eden’

Actors’ Repertory Theatre of Simi will have auditions by appointment only for the upcoming production of Stephen Schwartz’s musical “Children of Eden” from 7 to 10 p.m. Mon. and Tues., Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave.

Children will be seen between 7 and 8 p.m. on both days.

Callbacks will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sun., Sept. 6.

Actors should bring a head shot, resume and prepared sheet music from a Broadway musical of a similar genre.

Performance dates are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays from Oct. 30 through Dec. 6 at the cultural arts center.

The director is George Kralemann with musical direction by Gary Poirot and choreography by Rebecca Castells.

The production will feature approximately 30 actors of different ethnicities and children of all ages. Approximately 24 “storytellers” will play various roles.

The principal characters are Father, baritone/second tenor, age 40 and up; Adam/Noah, tenor, age 25 to 45; Eve/Mama Noah, gospel belt, age 25 to 45; Cain/Japeth, pop/rock tenor 1, age 16 to 25; Abel/Ham, baritone/second tenor, age 16 to 25; Yonah, female, alto Broadway belt, age 16 to 25.
