Robber hits U.S. Bank
Simi Valley police are looking for a man who robbed a local bank at gunpoint last Friday and escaped.
On July 31 at 9:49 a.m., Simi Valley police officers responded to a radio call of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the U.S. Bank at 5821 E. Los Angeles Ave. The bank is in the same shopping center as Vons and Rite Aid, just east of Yosemite Avenue.
When officers arrived, they were told that a male had entered the bank, approached a teller, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. After receiving the money, the suspect fled into the residential community east of the bank.
The suspect was seen getting into a newer model white Dodge Charger. The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound out of the neighborhood, police said.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a dark-colored sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call the Simi Valley Police Department at (805) 583-6950.
