Celebrity musician Mickey Jones to host Kiwanis’ annual blues fest
The fourth annual Simi Valley Blues Festival 2009 will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sat., Sept. 5 at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Ave.
The event, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley, will lead into the annual Simi Valley Days, which starts Sept. 9.
This year’s lineup includes The Bone Shakers, The Delgado Brothers, Michael John & The Bottom Line, Doña Oxford, Kyle Culkin Band, BB Chung King and The Buddaheads, Alex Dixon, and Barry “Big B” Brenner.
Celebrity host, actor and musician Mickey Jones will serve as master of ceremonies.
The festival will feature beer and wine booths, and food and craft vendors.
Proceeds will benefit local youth and community charities supported by the Kiwanis
Admission is $20 in advance for adults and $25 at the gate. Children ages 8 to 12 are $2 and under 7 are free with a paid adult.
