The city of Simi Valley is taking applications to fill the remainder of a four-year commissioner position of the Area Housing Authority of the Ventura County Board of Commissioners.

The vacated term ends Feb. 23, 2012.

The commissioners are charged with policy making, protection of public funds and general oversight.

Members are paid a $50 stipend and mileage reimbursement for each meeting attended.
