A TASTE HERE, A TASTE THERE—Attendees of the 2009 Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce Mega Mixer try to decide what to sample next during the event at the Lost Canyons Golf Club.

Produced by the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, sixteen local restaurants and 40 vendors were on hand showcasing their products and services.
“We had a really good time, and we saw a lot of our regular customers and made a lot of new friends,” said Tony and Evelyn Falato, owners of Junkyard Cafe. “We also voted ourselves ‘the best food’ in Simi Valley.”
Local businesses participating in this year’s event included industries in several different categories.
“With the economy such as it is, we were pleased with the large attendance and participation by vendors and restaurants for this year’s event,” said Larry Hibbler, chair of the board for the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce.
New this year was live entertainment, courtesy of Zumega Music and Lost Canyons Golf Club. Also new—a shuttle service from the parking lot to the entrance for those having to park on the street.
“This was a great event for us, and we will participate again next year,” said Enrique Cobian, general manager for Yolanda’s restaurant.
